The ScriptServer® Printing System is a set of comprehensive printing control applications for a managed and productive printing environment. While supporting all PostScript and LaserJet graphical capabilities, ScriptServer provides seamless integration for OpenVMS on VAX, AXP, and IA64 hardware platforms, including:

ScriptServer software supports the PostScript and HP-PCL languages, not specific printers, so it drives any PostScript or LaserJet-compatible printer. It also allows access to the printer-based emulations found in many printers, including LN03, Epson, IBM Proprinter, and others.

ScriptServer software is composed of two primary components, the ScriptServer print symbiont, which communicates with the printer, and the SCRIPT facility, which is used to control formatting when ASCII files are translated to the PostScript language.
