Describes how to add the name of the .XCF
command file name to
the name of the update log file.
We run XENTIS/Update regularly. Currently the update logs contain
the current date and time the update was run. Is there a simple way to include
the name of the .XCF
in the log name as well as the date and time?
The setup file parameter UPDATE-LOG-NAME controls the name of the log file for XENTIS/Update.
If the parameter value contains percent-X-percent, %X%
,
then this sequence is replaced with the current date and time, consistent with
the format used in previous versions. If the parameter value contains percent-C-percent,
%C%
, then this sequence is replaced with the current XENTIS
Command Filename. If the parameter value contains percent-D-percent, %D%
,
then this sequence is replaced with 8 numeric characters that indicate the current
date. If the parameter value contains percent-T-percent, %T%
,
then this sequence is replaced with 6 numeric characters that indicate the current
time. The default value of this parameter is SYS$DISK:[]UPDATE_LOG_%D%_%T%.LIS
You may use a combination of these parameter values to achieve the desired
log name. For example, having the parameter set this way: SYS$DISK:[]UPDATE_LOG_%C%_%D%_%T%.LIS
will yield a log that not only includes the .XCF
name but the date
and time, too.
