PROBLEMS GETTING THE "SCRIPT" MENU TO WORK

Contents | Index | About the Icons

Problem 1:

If you cannot get the Script Menu to work after an installation, you will probably get one or more error messages similar to the following when typing SCRIPT:

%CLI-F-SYNTAX, error parsing 'generic'

%CLI-E-ENTNF, specified entity not found in command tables

%DCL-W-IVERB, unrecognized command verb, check validity and spelling.

1) Set your default directory to SCRIPTSERVER:.

2) Type the following command:

$ SET COMMAND SCRIPT

OR

3) Log out and log in to get the new copy of the DCL tables.

Problem 2:

If SCRIPT is already a DCL command on your system, and you would still like to use the Script Menu, you can use the alternate command PSCRIPT. Make a copy of the file in the ScriptServer directory called SCRIPT.CLD, and name it PSCRIPT.CLD. Now edit this file and change the command verb from SCRIPT to PSCRIPT. After saving the file, you can use the command by typing the following:

$ SET COMMAND SCRIPTSERVER:PSCRIPT
